II. STATEMENT OF BELIEF
Theology
We believe the Bible is the inspired and
infallible Word of God and constitutes His completed and final revelation to
man. The Bible is without error.
We believe that God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in
human flesh, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man, except without sin.
I John 5:7, II Timothy 3:16, John 3:16, Romans 10:9
We believe that Jesus Christ came to pay the penalty for man's sin through
His substitutionary death on the cross, the successful accomplishment of
which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection.
We believe that salvation is offered as a free gift to the sinner, through
grace. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in
any personal works, but in the sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection
of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the continuing ministry of
the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a
godly life.
Family
We believe
in family, whether it be the traditional family, mixed families (due to
death, divorce, or adoption) or single parent homes. We also, believe that
there is no compatibility between Christian morality and the practice of
homosexuality.
